Last gig of the year! I'll be doing one more event in support of my new book, Lion Songs: Thomas Mapfumo and The Music that Made Zimbabwe. Sat., Dec. 12, 8 PM. Barbes, 376 9th St. (corner of 6th Ave.) Park Slope, Brooklyn 718.965.9177

The show will start with a multimedia evocation of Mapfumo's dramatic life in the rough-and-tumble of Zimbabwean history, and of course, his music. Then I'll do a short reading and end with music. I'll use my guitar to channel the Mapfumo sound, and then veer off in a few other directions.  Surprise guests possible!

And I will have Lion Songs books and CDs available.
